Red Yeast Rice is a form of yeast grown on red rice. Its use has been documented in China as far back as the Tang Dynasty (800 A.D.). It was taken internally to aid in digestion, invigorate the body, and remove blood blockages.
Red Yeast Rice does not pose the same severe adverse side effects as pharmaceutical statins. It supports healthy triglyceride levels, total cholesterol and LDL levels.
